Drink to New Energy: Crystals + Water
Here it is, your best crystal healing technique yet... crystal infused water!
If you thought a frosted cucumber strawberry fusion water with a twist of mint and lime was refreshing, wait until you add the right crystals to your drink. It’s a veritable elixir!
Crystal and gem-infused water is absolutely one of the simplest ways to enjoy crystal healing each day, and you’ll get different benefits than you would from just wearing or holding crystals against your skin.
When you wear crystal jewelry on your throat or heart chakra as in a necklace or hold the stones in your hands to recharge during meditation, the crystals’ vibrations interact with your aura and affect your mutable energies with their more powerful vibrations.
However, there are some qualities you simply cannot attain as readily as you would if you could take those crystals internally, and here is where crystal water comes into play.
Drinking a glass of crystal energized water allows you to send the benefits of your chosen crystals throughout your body and directly into your organs and different parts of your body that may not have been effectively reached otherwise. It’s the increased benefit of ingesting a peppermint and ginger supplemental blend rather than rubbing that same oil blend on a tummy ache. Both are viable solutions, but one allows for more targeted and direct application from within.
In the case of crystals, water is the conveyance needed to take those compounds where they need to go.
Are crystals and gems actually water soluble then?
Some of them completely dissolve in water, too. At the end of the day, they are, in fact, stones. Just as torrential rains and the ebb and flow of a river will tumble rough rocks and carry their leached minerals and particles along in its flow, a simple glass of drinking water will eventually dissolve many types of gems and absorb the elements and particles that have been eroded into the water. But we don’t actually need or want the minerals to dissolve in order to transfer the crystal vibrations to the water.
Putting a crystal in a glass of water allows the energy to transmit from crystal to water in the same way that the water within us absorbs energy. Because the human body is comprised of such a substantial percentage of water itself, drinking a glass of crystal water is the perfect means of transfer. Water adjusts its energy quite easily, and this makes crystal water essences so profound.
That being said, it is highly imperative to choose your crystals with care so that you do not inadvertently harm yourself.
Danger! Keep off these rocks!
The chemical makeup of certain crystals places them directly in the NO ZONE when it comes to internal consumption. Their material properties are beneficial in and of themselves, but they’re officially “for external use only” except for those minerals one might use in controlled measure for medicinal purposes, such as zinc, quick silver, or copper. Do you really want a drink laced with beryllium, mercury and aluminum? As for arsenic and lead, that’s the stuff poison is made of in the old movies. Stay safe and avoid infusing gems that can potentially leach toxic compounds into your water.
Here are a few super popular crystals, that you do NOT want to use in your gem water, roller bottles, or other crystal elixirs. For a full list + crystals that are considered SAFE, check out our printable reference guide here.
I know it’s a disappointment to see some of your favorites on this list!
If you want to benefit from the energies of these stones, you can do so indirectly by placing them in a tiny glass jar within the larger container of water or purchasing a double-chamber crystal water bottle, specifically for safe drinking.
Crystal essence bottled at the source
From Aquafina to ZenWTR and every brand in between, each company has something good to say about itself, but do you truly know what’s in their water?
Making your own crystal water, with even the most basic infusion, will elevate your drinking water from ordinary tap water to a refreshing crystal clear essence.
You can use a regular glass tumbler for a single serving or a large ball jar for a couple days worth of healing goodness.
If you want to drink straight from the glass, but don’t want to accidentally swallow your gems, its a good idea to use a glass bottle designed specifically for infusions, such as iced tea, fruit water, and crystal elixirs.
Eventually, you might try a couple of different crystal + gem combinations, yet the process remains the same for them all.
6 Easy Steps for creating your own Crystal Water:
STEP 2:
Rinse with clear water to be sure it’s physically cleansed of any residual smoke and debris.
STEP 3:
Place the crystal(s) in the bottom of a glass drinking container.
STEP 4:
Pour in spring or purified water (preferably) to fill.
STEP 5:
Leave to rest at least 12 hours to allow the water to fully infuse and give the crystals time to energize the water.
Quick Tip: Set in direct sunlight for 4-5 hours to accelerate the process.
STEP 6:
Drink up to one glass per day (but within a couple of days, so it doesn’t become stagnant).
Crystal water improves the quality, vibration, and taste of water, serving as a DIY filter of sorts if you have to drink tap water.
Quartz crystals can be added with various gems as a base for all your crystal elixirs, giving the cleansing benefits of clear quartz, boosted with whatever other healing benefits you’re looking for that day.
After the water is energetically charged by the crystals, you could technically strain and pour it into a separate glass to drink.
But here’s a tip: You can also allow for continuous crystal-energizing, while also preventing choking hazards, by using a tea infuser to enclose your crystals in the water or a specially designed water bottle that holds the crystals at the bottom.
As an added bonus, these crystal wellness bottles also have a completely separate chamber so you can safely use ANY crystals (yes, even those in the no zone) to charge your water via vibrations through the glass rather than direct infusion.
If you want to energize your water using crystals that aren’t recommended for ingestion but don’t have a special water bottle, remember you can achieve similar results using the DIY “two glass jars” method, mentioned earlier.
There are so many fun ways to customize the benefits of your crystal water!
